so, this is the review of something new

Something New is a 2006 American romantic drama film directed by Sanaa Hamri. The screenplay by Kriss Turner focuses on interracial relationships and traditional African American family values and social customs.
Kenya McQueen (Sanaa Lathan) is a successful, single African American woman who has sacrificed romance in order to pursue a career as a corporate finance manager. Her obsessive compulsive desire for perfection and control has manifested itself in the bland, monochromatic decor of her new home and the rigid rules she follows in her personal life. Urged to loosen up by her friends, Kenya accepts a blind date with landscape architect Brian Kelly (Simon Baker) arranged by her co-worker Leah Cahan (Katharine Towne), who is in the process of planning the kind of wedding Kenya wants herself. The two meet at Starbucks, and she is disturbed to discover Brian is white, so she quickly excuses herself and leaves.
The two unexpectedly meet again at a party at Leah's parents' home, where Brian landscaped the grounds. Impressed with his work, Kenya decides to hire him to renovate her unkempt backyard garden. As time passes, their employer-employee relationship evolves into a friendship and then love.
Although Brian is helping her feel more comfortable about her living environment, Kenya finds it difficult to dismiss her reservations about their romance. The opinions of her girlfriends Cheryl (Wendy Raquel Robinson), Nedra (Taraji P. Henson), and Suzette (Golden Brooks), her upper class parents Joyce (Alfre Woodard) and Edmond (Earl Billings), and her womanizing younger brother Nelson (Donald Faison) begin to have a deleterious effect and Brian's unwillingness to discuss issues of color drives them apart.
Nelson introduces his sister to someone she views as a more acceptable suitor, tax attorney Mark Harper (Blair Underwood), who has just relocated to Los Angeles. The two begin to date, and while Joyce thoroughly approves, Edmond senses his daughter is not as happy as she was with Brian. Everything Kenya thought she wanted suddenly seems immaterial, and nothing Mark does ignites a spark between them. When the dissonance she’s developed finally overwhelms her, Kenya chooses to reunite with Brian, no longer allowing her controlling nature and social norms to dictate matters of the heart.
Kenya marries Brian amongst their closest friends and loved ones.

review yang paling aku suka daripada Manohla Dargis (New York Time)
"a pleasantly diverting romance . . . [in which] the chemistry between the leads is as unmistakable as the setup is contrived . . . The lovely Ms. Lathan . . . and the similarly attractive Mr. Baker . . . don't just look good together; they feel right in sync. Their easy, sensual rapport partly owes something to the generally sure hand of the film's director, Sanaa Hamri, making a fine feature debut, and something else, something indefinable, to the delectable mysteries of two bodies in cinematic motion

movie ni meresap dalam jiwa hehehehe
sungguh
cubalah tonton
sebenarnya kenya dengan brian ni blind date kat starbuks
leah, kawan kenya yang aturkan
tapi kenya taknak lepas jumpa brian sebab brian berkulit putih

meh layan gambar pulak

ni masa hari perkahwinan Kenya & Brian
Finally
i love this scene
so intimate
plus, diorang kahwin kat kawasan belakang rumah kenya di mana Brian bertanggungjawab sebagai Lanskap Arkitek

romantik kan kan kan

ni masa Brian mula2 ajak kenya kelaur
diorang pergi hiking
pastu hujan
pastu feeling boost hehehe
masa ni rambut kenya lurus
tp balik dr hiking ni depa ehem2 pastu brian tegur ttg rambut

senyuman

scene last sebelum diorang kahwin
masa ni semua black
brian sorang je white
tapi dia mmg sayangkan kenya
orang lain semua pandang diorang and feel their love
lovely scene

melting with his sweetest smile

masa ni kenya nk tukar warna cat rumah
sebab brian inspire dia untuk show her tru self via color
it keeps in kenya's mind all the time
but Brian changed her mind
sweet sangat masa ni

masa ni brian teman kenya keluar pergi kelab Black
walter, bf cheryl bff kenya suspicious dengan brian
walter siap warning brian lagi
tapi brian cool

ni masa kenya buang rambut lurus yang dia jahit
konon2 tak nak nampak curl tu
brian tegur ttg rambut masa depa romantic scene ekekeke
tapi kenya marah sangat sebab dia rasa brian ni asyik nak tanya mcm2
but finally she found out that brian is always right
kenapa nk berpura2
brian  " aku dah agak dah"
Kenya "agak apa"
brian ''kamu memang cantik dengan rambut asli"
sweet kan
pastu scene romantic masa brian pakaikan warna kuku kat kaki kenya
kenya ni mcm rigid sgt dengan rules hidup dia
rumah kena cat warna kuning air
rambut kena panjang lurus
weekend kena pakai smart/suit
which is so contradict with brian
kat situlah equilibrium point diorang
ouchhhh

mak kenya mmg prefer black as her partner
tapi masa ni ayah kenya yang sgt2 sporting tu dah dpt agak yang kenya tak gembira
macama dia gembira & bahagia masa dengan brian
family kenya dh jumpa brian masa kenya host housewarming lps brian siapkan landskap rumah kenya
tak pernah meletakkan warna kulit sbg asas kebahagiaan
black ni ada black tax..
so semua xsuka brian
tapi brian baik
keikhlasan dia dapat dirasai
ecehhhh
hehehehe

brian brian brian

kasih sayang dan keikhlasan brian menerima kenya despite the sinical perceptions from sorrounding really insipre me
accept your partner as he/she is
understand your partner

one more thing, masa part last kenya cari brian kat nursery bunga tu
kenya cakap dia nk habiskan seluruh hidup dia dengan brian
tapi brian tak nak sb dia kata dia tak nak jadi pilihan kedua
dengan brian is always something new
touching sangat tau

sebab itu adalah kepercayaan cinta aku
kenapa?
sebab apa kita perlu jadi orang lain
kalau betul2 dia sukakan aku
dia takkan paksa aku jadi orang lain
bukan menukar jati diri orang tu
kalau dia malas (mcm aku) mungkin blh buat kerja rumah sama2
so aku boleh berubah jadi rajin
kalau aku suka cakap kuat2, mungkin blh educate untuk cakap with medium tone
something new like this la

kenya pun berjaya jadi rakan kongsi syarikat yang dia kerja sb dia firm and details
walaupun dia rasa susah sb mcm terpaksa bsaing dengan white
tapi bos dia pun xpandang warna kulit
tu la yang paling penting
i don't think black tax exist but somehow people keep get you insane with wrong words
it might exit is someway but if we do accept each other,
we may be as happy as kenya & brian
trust me
trust your instinct

sebab review aku ni aku type dulu baru aku baca review daripada wikipedia tu
almost the same
hahahha
so proud with myself
boleh buat move review
